Welcome - I'm so pleased you found me. I'm the founder of Healing Works.

​Many years ago, I was in pain and needed help and I was fortunate to find it.

My trauma and the healing journey of transformation that grew from it, helped define me and eventually led to my own career in counselling.

Today I have over 25 years experience helping people from all walks of life. I’m a fully qualified, accredited therapist but more importantly, I am sincerely committed to helping you find your path.

My Life Now

I live with my husband of 25 years in a treasured and peaceful rural setting in North Waikato.

We have five grown up children between us and four grandchildren, most of whom live overseas – so we have a border collie dog called Ruby, who takes up their space when they are not around!

Protecting the planet is very important to me and I am committed to sustainable living, as well as nurturing community and humanitarian connectedness.

I love all forms of gardening and enjoy making things including building.

I am enduringly passionate about transformation and beauty. I am humbled when I am present to the moments of healing when I see people inspired by beauty, authenticity and happiness.

Professional Profile

I have worked as a supervisor, counsellor and therapist for over 25 years.

I am an ACC-registered mental health and addiction specialist with experience in a number of clinical settings spanning:

• Community counselling and support agencies
• Hospital, community and prison addiction programs
• Hospice, agency and private practice
• Women’s health and wellness in community and hospital
• Child and adolescent mental health
• Kaupapa Māori, primary and secondary mental health services.​​

I have in-depth experience working with individuals, whaiora, couples, family and whanau as well as doing extensive group work including therapeutic community work.

Qualifications & Associations

• I hold an M.Ed(Counselling), B.A.(Psychology), PGCertHsc,PGCertMgt
• Am a registered member of NZAC (New Zealand Association of Counsellors
• ​An accredited counsellor and supervisor with DAPAANZ (Drug Alcohol Practitioners Aotearoa Association New Zealand)
• ​A credentialed TARA practitioner
• A single session family consultation practitioner and trainer.
