Often a distinction is made between angels and guides – essentially they are the same in their protection and intentions but differ in their origins.
An angel is a higher being, a being of light who has never been carnate – in human, physical form. They are sent to protect us and give us messages and guidance, this all comes from a higher knowledge rather than life experience.
Angels step in sometimes for long periods of time to guide us – during times of great physical or mental suffering. Angels have more spiritual energy and power accessible to them than guides.
A spirit guide is a soul who has “been here before” lived at least once before on the physical plane. Therefore, they are best placed to help us with guidance, as they know what to expect through their own life experiences down here.
Both Angels and Spirit Guides have names. Angels don't always introduce themselves by name. Guides like to introduce themselves but often not straight away.
